Artisan Custom Homes

Although Artisan Custom Homes is a young company, its owner - John Shryock, seeks to bring valuable experience to their high-end homes in the greater Charlotte area. Artisan Custom Homes formed their custom home business using John's building skills and business experience. It has proven to be a successful combination of democratic decision-making and natural checks and balances. John acts as a construction manager and deals primarily with the home building process, is a lead developer and handles many aspects of the business, including sales, marketing, accounting, legal matters and customer service.

John Shryock

John graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He has 25 years of construction supervision expertise. John started in the home building business by framing houses in Raleigh in the early 1990s and from there began supervising the building of 40 to 50 homes per year ranging in price from $250,000 to $700,000 for one of the largest high-end production home builders in Charlotte. He holds a North Carolina Unlimited General Contractors license. Today, John works as the Construction Manager overseeing projects that can be in excess of $3 million. He works as a liaison between client/architect/designer and builder to make sure that the project has consistency. He serves as supervisor to the project managers to keep Artisan Custom Homes projects both on time and within budget.
